Gore to Clinton: Butt Out
Title: … Butt Out. A stupid play on words (which is called a pun even though one would think it would be pOn for Play On Words) to continue my childish fixation on Gore's connection to the tobacco industry.
--- Headline irony: Both stories talked about using block grants to provide the money for local school districts to have the resources to do the things which will help the children in their neighborhoods. The Democrats wanted - more or less - to have the money directed from Washington used almost exclusively to hire more teachers who are members of the teachers' union who support Democratic candidates. See how this works?
--- The PBS List Swap: Gingrich, a PhD in history and a former college professor, taught a college course which was broadcast on cable entitled "Renewing America." It was at the center of the Democratic claims that he had co-mingled non-tax deductible funds with tax deductible funds and so was a "tax cheat." The IRS found - after a lengthy investigation - that Gingrich and his associated organizations had, in effect, provided a text book on how to do it correctly even though there his been no parade to the Well of the House by Democrats to apologize.
