- "� Lloyd Bentsen ...": Here's a lengthy link to the Wikipedia Encyclopedia entry on the former Senator from Texas, Candidate for Vice President and Secretary of the Treasury.
During the one Vice Presidential debate of the 1988 campaign, Senator Dan Quayle made the point that his professional bio was about the same as John F. Kennedy's bio when he was elected President.
That was when Bentsen - who had been well coached - uttered the infamous line: I knew Jack Kennedy; Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. You, Senator, are no Jack Kennedy."
- "� Daniel Pearl ...": Islamic fundamentalists kill Mr. Pearl, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, by chopping off his head while videotaping the act. Here's a link to CNN's coverage of the Pearl atrocity.
