Burning Crosses & Free Speech

Monday, December 16, 2002

  • TITLE: "Cross Burning and Free Speech" This was the title of the New York Times editorial.

  • "... Travelogues ..." Here's the link to all the Travelogues of the past few years. They go from the earliest at the top, to the most recent at the bottom.

And here are the links to the current Travelogues:
    Chapter 1: Don't Eat the Two-Toned Fish
Chapter 2: Eating Where the Grand Duke Ate

  • "... NY Times ..." Here's the link to yesterday's NY Times editorial on cross burning.

  • "... First & Tenth Amendments ..."
First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Tenth Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

  • "... Averell, Adlai, Howell ..." W. Averell Harriman and Adlai Stevenson. Howell Raines, Executive editor of the New York Times.

    Mullfoto of the Day:

Yet more proof that I would make the world's worst spy:

The Lad and I went to the International Spy Museum in Your Nation's Capital over the weekend. Upon entering, a very bored guard told me that no photographs were permitted.

To prove I am above such petty rules, I took this very excellent photograph - without being observed! - of an exhibit within the museum.

  •     Mullings' Catchy Caption of the Day:

U.S. Gen. Tommy R. Franks, Commander of United States Central Command, right, and US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld react to a reporter's question as to the exact date and order of battle for the invasion of Iraq.
