- TITLE: "Scuds & Cuds" Hey! It's ten minutes after midnight here in Geneva. I think that's darned clever!
- "... Travelogues ..." Here's the link to all the Travelogues of the past few years. They go from the earliest at the top, to the most recent at the bottom.
And here are the links to the current Travelogues:
Chapter 1: Don't Eat the Two-Toned Fish
Chapter 2: Eating Where the Grand Duke Ate.
- "... 1588 ..." The Spanish Armada, attempting to attack England, was driven back in 1588. Here's a
quick history from the BBC web page.
- "... pit of despair ..." From the 1987 Rob Reiner film,
The Princess Bride"
- "... PETA ..." Here's a link to the story of PETA suing on behalf of cows.
Mullfoto of the Day: The award for "Most Clever Poster at an Airport in France, 2002"
I think this is extremely good art direction. It is an ad for a bank which uses the symbols for the Yen, the Euro and the Dollar to spell out ... well, you can see what it spells out.
World War II Poster
- Mullings' Catchy Caption of the Day:
Here's the actual caption: "Retiring Sen. Strom Thurmond R-S.C., looks up from his wheelchair as the lettering is revealed on a C-17 naming the giant jet transport in his honor, during a ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base, Md., Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002. It is the 100th C-17 Globemaster and is named for Thurmond to mark his recent 100th birthday and to honor his service as a senator."
Note the inscription over the door: "Spirit of Strom Thurmond."
