Al's Pal

Monday October 30, 2000

  • TITLE: "Al's Pal" Bill Clinton cannot and will not stand aside. He can't help himself, which is not helping Gore. It is great fun to watch Democrats grit their teeth while they pretend to be happy -- thrilled, really -- that Clinton has insinuated himself into this election at the last moment.

  • " New York Times endorsed " You could almost hear the rending of flesh in the Times editorial office. The five words they REALLY wanted to have in the editorial were: "Would that it were Hillary."

  • "From the Desk of " The Gore campaign is between the proverbial rock and the mythical hard place when it comes to Clinton. They now believe they can't win without him, and they fear they will lose with him. Is that a working definition of "paradox?"

  • "Paula Jones" This photo shows what happens when you drag a $15,000 bill though a plastic surgeon's office:

  • "National tracking polls " To see Monday's summary, go here.

  • Mullings "Catchy Caption of the Day"

"Then, if they say they're STILL undecided, I give them THIS look!"

  • "daisy ad " This ad was produced by an independent group out of Texas to demonstrate concern for the Clinton/Gore coziness with the Chinese and the possible transfers of military technology. It was based upon an ad which was run in the Johnson - Goldwater election by Johnson's campaign to show how dangerous the world would be if Barry Goldwater's finger was on the nuclear button.
