Friday October 20, 2000
- TITLE: "Midnight in the Garden of George and Albert" An obvious pun on the John Berendt novel "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" which was set in Savannah.
- "Every tracking poll …" A tracking poll is a poll in which 200, 300 or some other number of respondents are called each night and three or four nights are then added up to get the poll. As the tracking poll moves forward the oldest day is dropped off and the newest day takes its place so it is a three or four day rolling poll.
- Mullings "Catchy Caption of the Day"
Gore: "And then it came to me. Of course! I would invent the Internet!
Regis: "This guy should be sewing socks in one of Cathy Lee's clothing factories"
"…should have accepted the Bush debate proposal." Bush, remember, suggested three debates in a more relaxed talk show format. The Gore campaign, convinced they would surge ahead after debating Bush, scoffed at the idea and the Bush campaign backed down and accepted the "Commission" debates.
