- TITLE: "When Dinosaurs Roamed the Senate"
The Discovery Channel has had a number of variants on this theme: "
When Dinosaurs Roamed the Earth" being the kick off, and a series of "Walking with Dinosaurs" titles. Or, it might have been the other way around.
- "... Fall Subscription Drive ..." Here's the link to the page which describes the Fall Subscription Drive!.
- "... Robert Byrd ..." For all his ranting and raving about President Bush, take a look at the photo atop the biography in pictures page on his official Senate website. Note, too the subject matter of the Joint Session.
Last year I spoke at a meeting of the West Virginia Republican Party. During the Q and A I was asked how I would recommend they proceed with getting funding for a new outlet mall up around Wheeling.
"That's easy," I said. "Go to Washington and offer to name it the "Robert C. Byrd Outlet Mall" and the money will be rolling down the Ohio River."
How do you think Route 50 got to be a four-lane highway?
- "... Warner-Byrd dustup ..." Here's the link to Official Congressional Record Transcript.
Mullfoto of the Day: This is a new feature in which I, with my little Canon Powershot S300 digital camera, will share with you
my basic befuddlement with the world we - well, I - live in. For example ...
Most people would have no trouble decoding this sign, but I stood and stared at
it so long that the guy in the booth came out and asked me what I was doing. Here's what I couldn't figure out: Why would someone
bother inventing a hospital for women and hotels?
- "... McDermott ..." David Bonior, who accompanied McDermott has already been dealt with. He was the Democratic Whip in the House but stepped down from that post to run for Governor of Michigan. Because of that race he did not run for re-election to the House. Bonior lost in the primary so is out of a job and may have to return to the post he held prior to becoming a Member of Congress: Parole Officer.
