- TITLE: "DisaPIERances" A pretty good pun.
- " Hurricane " According to my Merriam-Webster's Unabridged, the word "Hurricane" is from the Spanish huracn, from Taino hurakn, from hura wind, to blow away.
By the way, here's what "Taino" means from the Welcome to Puerto Rico website.
Tano Indians, a subgroup of the Arawakan Indians (a group of American Indians in northeastern South America), inhabited the Greater Antilles (comprising Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola [Haiti and the Dominican Republic], and Puerto Rico) in the Caribbean Sea at the time when Christopher Columbus' arrived to the New World.
- " Davis on Mars " Here's the link to the SF Chronicle piece on Gray Davis pandering for votes from people on other planets.
- Mullfoto of the Day:
This is the front cover of an actual book for sale at the Border's Bookstore on Union Square in San Francisco. It SHOULD have been titled: "How to Start a Business in California and Other Ridiculous Ideas."

- Mullings' Catchy Caption of the Day:
A pier is buffeted by high winds, large waves, and a strong storm surge!
