Taken by my smuggled-in camera from my seat at the GOP debate in Ames.
The lines to get into the auditorium were very long because everyone had to go through a magnatometer. It's not a real political event unless you can make everyone go through a mag.
There was a sign outside the hall which listed all the items which were forbidden: Machetes, Howitzers, any nuclear device, and ... cameras. The sign went on to say that any forbidden item had to be returned to your car or it would be confiscated.
I had my small Canon in my back pocket, and I'd been driven up to Ames from Des Moines in a van so returning it to my car was not an issue. Furthermore, there was no ban on cell phones and just about ever cell phone in existence has a camera, so I didn't see the point.
Nevertheless as I got to the door with the mag just beyond it, a campus police officer walked in ahead of me; I walked in immediately behind him going around, not through the mag and ended up with my camera safely in the building.
It occurred to me that my Canon was my fourth camera. One on my Blackberry. Two in my iPad. One in my back pocket.
