- "... Yada-Yada ...": This is a famous episode from "Seinfeld," first broadcast in 1997:
GEORGE: Listen to this. Marcy comes up and she tells me her ex-boyfriend was over late last night, and "yada yada yada, I'm really tired today." You don't think she yada yada'd sex.
ELAINE: (Raising hand) I've yada yada'd sex.
GEORGE: Really?
ELAINE: Yeah. I met this lawyer, we went out to dinner, I had the lobster bisque, we went back to my place, yada yada yada, I never heard from him again.
JERRY: But you yada yada'd over the best part.
ELAINE: No, I mentioned the bisque.
"...Curly, Moe & Larry ...": The Three Stooges, .Curly and Moe Howard, and Larry Fine. Although comparing Dean, Kerry & Edwards to the Three Stooges is really not fair ... to the Three Stooges.
"... Des Moines River ...": There really is a Des Moines River. From the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition:
The Des Moines River is] 535 mi (861 km) long, rising in SW Minn. and flowing SE across Iowa to the Mississippi River at[ Keokuk, SE Iowa. Flowing through fertile farmland, the river floods in the spring and is nearly dry in late September; dams were constructed to regulate its flow. It is the main source of water for Des Moines, Iowa.
I didn't say it was an exciting river.
Mullfoto of the Day
If you wonder why I go to places like Lafayette, Louisiana; this is a photo from my office window. That whitish building on the right? That would be the World Bank Building - one of the buildings which was included in the "Code Orange" warning by Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge last week.
Say, how about a nice kayaking trip down the Des Moines River?
Catchy Caption of the Day
ACTUAL CAPTION:
"Water balloon fight. Some 350 German youths staged what they called the world's biggest water-balloon fight over the weekend, soaking each other with 7,850 balloons in less than three minutes."
It's like I always say, you want fun? You gotta get a bunch of Germans together. I'm telling you, you're gonna get some fun!
