US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates (L) walks with US commander in Iraq, General Ray Odierno upon his arrival in Baghdad. Gates on Tuesday spoke of a new era in Iraq with American troops playing a less dominant role as Baghdad's security forces increasingly take the lead.

The interesting thing to me is that they are walking from an aircraft, across the open space to the terminal, without helmets and flak jackets.
