Hey, You, Get Offa My Cloud
Wednesday July 18, 2001
- TITLE: "Hey, You, Get Offa My Cloud" the title to, and the entire chorus of a Rolling Stones' song which appeared on a 1965 album, "December's Children."
- "…Paul Simon song …" A the song is "The Boxer" which appeared on the 1970 album "Bridge over Troubled Waters." The title song contains one of the prettiest lyrics in the history of popular music. In the final stanza the line goes: "… if you need a friend; I'm sailing right behind."
At any rate there is another stanza in The Boxer which has application to this business as well:
When I left my home and my family,
I was no more than a boy
In the company of strangers
In the quiet of the railway station,
Running scared, laying low,
Seeking out the poorer quarters
Where the ragged people go,
Looking for the places
Only they would know.
- "…Yucatan …" Here's a map of Southern Mexico which shares a border with Guatemala and Belize - but you already knew that.
- Mullings' Catchy Caption of the Day:
A reminder of where most of us came from.
