The Gumbelization of Katie C.
Monday, June 10, 2002
- TITLE: "The Gumbelization of Katie C." This is a two-fer. An unprovoked attack on Bryant Gumbel who never disguised his distaste for Republicans generally and conservatives in particular AND is a pun on the 1964 film, "The Americanization of Emily" which starred James Garner and Julie Andrews.
- "... Today Show ..." Go here for a transcript of the Couric/Ridge interview.
- "... Don and Mike ..." Don Geronimo and Mike O'Meara. The Morning Zoo was a format in use around the country in the early 90's which included a pair of dingbats doing thinks like calling female reporters and asking about their underwear.
Don and Mike are now gazillionaires, their show being syndicated by Infinity Broadcasting. The radio station in Washington, DC on which they started was sold and became a Christian station.
Ironies abound.
- "... Jim Vande Hei ..." Here's the link to the Washington Post piece about the Congressional Turf Battles .
