- This is from this week's Newsweek article by Howard Fineman, et. al, regarding what happened after Hillary found out that the National Enquirer was going to break the Hugh Rodham story:
Clinton lawyers checked official records and drafted a cautiously worded denial. Then there was the stagecraft. It was decided that Bill had to scram before the story broke. He needed to be safely out of microphone range at the family's other new home, in Chappaqua, N.Y. It was too late for the shuttle. So after midnight a Secret Service mini-motorcade got going. If you were driving I-95 in the wee small hours, you might have seen it: the 42d president, retreating north.

- " above and beyond, but also around " One of the not-very-well-reported findings by the Florida newspapers following the November election was the number of felons (almost all of whom voted for Gore) who were allowed to vote, illegally.
- "Harry Thomason " Interesting, isn't it, that Old Harry was a big deal at the beginning of the Administration and is a big deal in getting pardons for Arkansas pals at the end? For those who may not remember, it was Harry Thomasonn who, allegedly coached Clinton for his infamous "I have never had sex with that woman " press conference.
- "Roger Clinton " Reporting last night indicated that ole' Roj might have actually been paid some $30,000 by supporters of Carlos Vignali, the same guy brother-in-law Hugh got 200 Grand for getting sprung.
- " LLP " A form of partnership utilized largely by attorneys and consulting firms.
