- "First the plane …" Campaigns charter airplanes upon which seats are "sold" to the media. There is no fixed price for these seats. The campaign takes the cost of the plane, divides by the number of people on board and (more or less) charges that amount for each passenger.
"Kitty Hawk" of course, is the site of the first powered airplane flight by the Wright Brothers.
- "Newbies …" An internet term for a novice user.
- "Quasar" A contraction of quasi stellar. An astronomical object that appears to be a star but has a different, larger red shift.
- "Windmills of Your Mind" Is the theme song of the movie "The Thomas Crown Affair"
- "… in-law-op." An "op" is shorthand for "opportunity." It is most commonly used in the phrase "photo op" but now is often used as "press op."
