  • "... Peter Townshend ..." The famous guitarist of The Who was arrested for downloading child pornography to his computer. He said he had been doing research for a book.

  • "...ABC News' "The Note" ..." The Note is an extremely valuable roundup (with commentary) of the day's political news. There is a link to "The Note" on the Mullings web page at the top of the left-hand listing of US news sources.

  • "...Michael Beschloss' book ..."
    The book is "The Conquerors." You are familiar with my rule about reading non-fiction books: Either I have to be in it or it has to have pictures. This had pictures.

    The book examines the political infighting in the Roosevelt and Truman Administrations over how to deal with Germany after World War II.


  • "... 58 percent ... " First of all a 58 percent job approval is just fine. But here are some other numbers from that poll:
