 Where Do I Go To Get My 300 Grand Back?
* The Internal Revenue Service has closed the books on the Newt Gingrich/Progress & Freedom Foundation/GOPAC tax case which was brought by Michigan Democratic Congressman David Bonior.
* The IRS issued a 42-page document in which it examined every connection between a Member of Congress, a tax-exempt foundation, and a political committee. Rather than an indictment of the parties, the document provides a model for how to do it correctly.
* Do you like the color blue? I hope so, because that's the only color you'll see if you hold your breath waiting for Bonior and his House cronies apologize for their tone, their language, and their unrelated-to-any-factual-evidence assertions that Newt was guilty of violating tax law. He never was.

* The House Managers are not being given the opportunity to present a complete case to the Senate, but they got a lot farther than anyone would have bet when this thing started. The Managers were professional, well-prepared, and properly deferential.
* The Clintonian outrage about Chelsea on the cover of People Magazine rings just a bit hollow. This is the same Chelsea Clinton whom the Clintons used as a photo op the day the family left the White House for Martha's Vineyard last August. Remember the shot of the three of them walking to Marine One - Chelsea between her mom and dad? A family under repair? Just happened that way? I don't think so.
* Just a few weeks ago, when a series of tornados ripped through Little Rock, Bill Clinton stopped biting his lip long enough to say he was especially concerned because one of the storms was only a few blocks from the Governor's Mansion where "we raised Chelsea for 12 years."

* Just When You Thought The Era of Big Government Was Over, Dept.: The Associate Press is reporting this morning about the results of a study which proved - proved, mind you - that the ducks at the end of a row of sleeping ducks sleep with one eye open over 80 percent of the time watching for predators. We could have conducted this study for free just by watching Senators during The Trial. At least one Senator in each row was assigned to sleep with one eye open watching for TV cameras in front of which they could be interviewed.
* As this is being written early Friday morning, King Hussein of Jordan is reported to be in a coma, being kept alive through the use of live support equipment, and is likely to be allowed to pass away before this day is over.
* For about three years, the Middle East was my sales and marketing territory. I know a little about the respect he had throughout the region. King Hussein is proof that physical stature and historical stature are two different things.
