I Need a Break

Let's start a new thing for the summer. You can ask me questions and once in a while, I'll answer them.
I was going to write about how Barack Hussein Obama's theory that if you're nice to other people they will be nice to you is coming unraveled with North Korea acting worse than it has in decades to the point that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on a Sunday show yesterday that the U.S. is considering putting them back on the list of Terrorist States.
"Obviously we would want to see recent evidence of their support for international terrorism," Hillary said.
Two things: One, don't you wish that the Secretary of State would have her own sources to determine whether or not there is "recent evidence" of North Korea's support for international terrorism?
Two, "terrorist" and "terrorism" are an adjectives I didn't think the Obamas used any more, but there you are.
Three (I know I wrote "two things" but I just thought of this), the real problem is the head of the North Korean government, Kim Jong Il, looks like he's on death's door and so he might not see any personal downside risk to launching a nuke at South Korea, Japan and/or China.
More? Ok.
Cuba, which is one of the few places on the planet Barack and Michelle have not hopped on a government plane for a quiet dinner, refused an invitation to rejoin the Organization of American States.
The OAS which has never, at any time, done anything worthwhile for anyone, threw Cuba out in 1962. Not 2003, but 1962. That means Cuba has been blackballed by every Democratic American President since John Kennedy including: Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
Nevertheless President Obama apparently made it clear that if the OAS wanted to keep its pricy digs in downtown Washington, DC it should re-admit Cuba. They did. Cuba said, "Nah," or whatever Spanish is for, "Nah."
Actually what Cuba did was to issue a statement calling the OAS a "pestilent corpse."
Wish I would have thought of that.
More hemispheric foreign policy successes for Barack Hussein Obama: After Obama nationalized Chrysler and General Motors (and is within days of taking over a third or more of Citigroup), Hugo Chavez of Venezuela was quoted by Reuters as saying:
"Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right."
Venezuela provides about 10 percent of all the oil we import (and we import about two-thirds of all the oil we use) so we are as some risk of Hugo disrupting our oil supplies.
Remember at the Summit of the Americas a couple of weeks back when, according to the Wall Street Journal, Chavez said "I want to be your friend," according to the Venezuelan government news service. Photos showed the two men grasping hands warmly, all smiles.
How is it that when Barack Obama is the butt of a joke by Hugo Chavez it goes largely unnoticed in the American press?
Meanwhile, over in Europe, the local press corps in Germany and France were in a projectile sweat over the fact that Obama's schedule indicated to them that Europe was pretty far down on his list of priorities. It was widely reported that Obama declined an invitation to have dinner with the French President and Mrs. Sarkozy because Obama wanted to have dinner with his wife at a swanky restaurant in Paris.
The German press was krankheit over the fact that Obama only went there to visit a Nazi concentration camp but would not put a joint appearance with German Chancellor Angela Merckel on his schedule.
According to ABC's Jake Tapper, the major German newspaper, Der Spiegel quoted French President Nicolas Sarkozy as saying, "Merkel can't even host the US president in the capital city. I can meet him in Normandy and in Paris."
Very smooth.
But, I don't want to write about any of that so, I'm taking a break today to answer a question which was posed to me on Facebook after I wrote that I was at the Nationals game and had written a column about the upcoming Major League Baseball draft:
I have a question: with all the play-by-play day-by-day about the on-the-scene happenings at the ballpark, when do you find time to write Mullings and make the world a better place? Or at least a funnier place?
Drat. I'm out of space for today.
On the Secret Decoder Ring today. A HUGE SDR today: Links to all of the foreign policy successes listed above. Plus links to not one but two baseball columns. Also a Mullfoto which proves I have great parking karma, and a Catchy Caption of the Day.
