  • "... Romano & Balz ...": Here's a link to the Washington Post report of the visit to Wendy's.

  • "... Chili ...": I KNOW chili is spelled differently than Chile. On this planet we call that humor. Not great humor, but there you are.

  • Mullfoto of the Day
Now you know why the Heinz-Kerry/Edwards campaign made such a big deal about stopping at Wendy's.

Production Note: To get this extraodinary photograph, I navigated the Mullmobile to the extreme northern edge of Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. Pulled into the parking lot of the Wendy's. Walked in, as bold as you please, and ordered a single hamburger and a small order of French fries ... and this was the best part ... to go!

Without giving away my true purpose I asked for extra ketchup. Unwittingly playing into my hands, the person behind the counter put four of these packets into my bag.

I paid my three dollars and change and, laughing to myself, escaped from the store undetected and drove home.

Wait. I paid three bucks for a hamburger and fries I had no intention of eating? Just to get a photograph of a ketchup packet? What a stupid idea this was.

  • Mullfoto of the Day-2

This was my last on-camera interview in Boston. It was for MSNBC just before the session started on Thursday evening. From the top of a roof. The Fleet Center is over my left shoulder.
I get all the best gigs.

  • Catchy Caption of the Day

    Misuse of Marines.

By the way, if you look closely at this photo there are two points:

    1. That is not Senator Kerry's finger pointing at the Marine. All four digits are pointing back toward his wrist. I acutally expanded that section to check and what appears to be his finger is an architectual element on the window behind him.

    2. Look at the woman leaning over in the background between the two Marines. If that had been Clinton, that Marine would have been talking to ... air!
